A lot of things have changed since my first journal. One of those changes is that I am not taking trigonometry and physics anymore. I decided to drop those classes because I didn’t want to be stressing out my last year of high school. I guess you can say I didn’t have the mental strength I said I had which I wrote in my first journal. Part of me thinks that I should’ve went for the challenge, but then I hear some of my friends saying how they're stressing out about not passing trigonometry and how they have to stay after school almost everyday, then I say to myself that I’m glad I’m not in that situation. Even though most of my friends say physics is an easy class, I still think it wasn’t necessary for me to take it. Furthermore, there was a positive change that has happened since my first journal; I decided to join the Nurse Assistant Training Program(NATP) so I could work in the medical field while I’m attending college. Joining this after-school program will teach me how to be responsible and how to manage my school time and my CNA course at the same time.
Currently I am stressing out about some of my classes because I think I’m not going to be on pace on them but I believe in myself and know I will get through them. The only classes I am on pace are my TA periods, which I practically get an on pace mark if I just show up to class. The other class I am on pace is my beginning band class which is almost the same as my TA classes where I just show up and I get marked on pace. Other than those three classes, I am not on pace on all my other ones, which include: English, Ag Economics, Spanish 2, and intermediate guitar. Out of those four classes, English is the one that's concerning me the most because I’ve only turned in like two or three assignments. Which means that the class is already half way through the semester but I haven’t even started it.
Post graduation life is something I am really looking forward to. Some steps I have taken for post graduation is looking into colleges I hope to be applying for. For example, so far I’ve only chosen three that I want to get accepted by and they are: Humboldt State University, Sacramento State University, and Fresno State University. The college I really want to get accepted by is Fresno State because while I’m trying to get my bachelors degree in animal science, I’m also going to be taking pre-veterinary requisites. Therefore, when I hopefully graduate Fresno State, I could look into a veterinarian school like UC Davis or Oregon State.
Something I am grateful for is that my family is really showing a lot of support in my preparation for post graduation. Not only did my sister help me fill out my financial aid application, but my mom has been really supportive in me choosing to move out after I graduate from high school and moving closer to Fresno State.
