One thing every high school student looks forward to is their winter break. This is the time we all get a break from the stress we receive at school and just get to relax with no worries. My winter break surprisingly went pretty smooth. I stayed at my brother’s apartment in Clovis for the entire break. During my stay there, I would just watch Netflix all day and play video games. The weekends were the best part of the break; we would travel to places I haven't been too. For example, he took me to watch a football in Santa Clara where the 49ers played against the Bengals. Even though the team that I was hoping would win lost, it was still worth going for the experience.
Something I regret in the first semester of my senior year is not working on my procrastinating habit. In my first journal I had stated I would work on it, but I think I just didn’t think it was such a big deal at first. Now I look back thinking to myself, if only I would’ve set aside this party or other event, I would be on pace with no stress on my mind.
Realizing that this is the last semester of my high school is stressful. Since my freshmen year I have dreamed of being a senior and counting down my last months of being a high school student. I mean part of me is happy that I’m finally going to graduate after 4 years of stress and drama. The other half of me is scared of entering the world of adulthood. I’m going to have to learn how to live on my own without my mom doing things like clean or cook.
Furthermore, I still have things I need to complete from my first semester. For example I still need some things for my English and Econ class. I have confidence in myself that I will finish the courses even tho I’m behind on some of them. Something I also need to complete that I’m also looking forward to is the senior exit interview. I have my appointment to present it on March 16th, so I’m really looking forward to that day. I’m nervous about what the panelists are going to grade my presentation, but I’m confident I will do fine.
Moreover, college applications are going well. Like I stated in my last journal, I applied to Fresno State, Humboldt State, and Sacramento State. I recently found out that I was accepted by all three of those universities. When I first received the news I had a huge smile on my face because I had a small doubt in my mind that I wasn’t going to get accepted into Fresno State. I am planning on attending Fresno State once I hopefully graduate from high school. Entering the college life is challenging for someone who spent 16 years living under their parent’s roof, but I think I will adjust into being an adult.
